About EAI-ISP
Mission
“Represent and strengthen independent ISPs in Europe.”
EAI-ISP — the European Association of Independent ISPs — exists to be the voice of Europe’s independent Internet Service Providers: small and medium operators who build and run their own networks, often in the regions and communities that the largest operators have little commercial interest in serving.
The Problem
Small and medium ISPs face challenges that come directly from their size. Compared to large national or international operators, they lack the economic power to negotiate equipment prices, absorb regulatory costs, or compete on price alone. Individually, each ISP is too small to change this. Collectively, they don’t have to be — see our Challenges page for a detailed look at what independent ISPs are up against.
The Solution
EAI-ISP’s answer is to establish an international association that represents the interests of independent ISPs by:
- Bundling individual contributions into a shared voice with real weight
- Providing education so members keep pace with technology and regulation
- Enabling collective procurement of equipment and infrastructure
- Facilitating access to grants and financing
- Lobbying on behalf of independent ISPs at a European level
See the Services page for how these translate into concrete offerings for members.
The Team
EAI-ISP is being built by:
- An Executive Board, providing direction and representation
- Operational staff, scoped to whatever the association decides to offer its members first
The association is still forming — Join Us to be part of shaping it.
